Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 9, 2026
These terms form a binding agreement between you and MyCoverLetter ("we", "us") and govern your use of the MyCoverLetter website and service. By using the service, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
MyCoverLetter generates draft cover letters from the job details and personal information you supply, using third-party AI models. You answer a series of questions and receive a free preview before paying. Starting the trial creates an account (your email address only, no password) and every letter you generate afterward is saved to your account's dashboard.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for everything done through your account and your use of the service.
3. Price and payment
- The service is a subscription: $0.99 is charged immediately for a 3-day trial, after which it converts automatically into a $19.99/month recurring subscription for unlimited letters, billed until you cancel. By entering your card details and starting the trial, you authorize us to make this initial charge and, unless you cancel first, every recurring charge after it, on the card you provided or any replacement card your bank links to it.
- You will not receive a separate reminder before the trial converts to a paid subscription — the $0.99 charge itself, and this page, are that notice. If you don't want to be charged $19.99/month, cancel before the trial ends.
- Payment and subscription billing are handled by Stripe. By paying, you also accept Stripe's terms.
- You can cancel at any time from your account's billing page — it takes one click and nothing else is required. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund charges already made.
- Prices are shown before payment and may change for future subscribers; the price shown at checkout is the one that applies to you.
- Where applicable, prices include VAT or sales tax as calculated at checkout.
4. Delivery, right of withdrawal and refunds
Each letter is generated shortly after you request it and made available on your dashboard. Because this is digital content delivered immediately, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose any statutory right of withdrawal for the trial charge once your first letter has been generated.
We still want you to get what you paid for. If the service fails to deliver a letter, a letter is unusable because of a technical fault on our side, or a renewal charge went through after you cancelled, email hello@mycoverletter.work within 14 days and we will re-generate it or refund the charge in question in full. We do not refund charges simply because you changed your mind about the wording, did not get the job, or forgot to cancel before a renewal.
If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us first — we resolve the great majority of billing issues within a day, and it's faster than a dispute with your bank. Filing a chargeback for a charge you authorized and received the service for, without giving us the chance to fix it, is a breach of these terms; we may contest the chargeback with the evidence available to us (including this agreement, your account's activity, and delivered letters) and may suspend the account it was filed from.
5. Your responsibilities
- The information you provide must be accurate and yours to provide. Do not upload another person's CV or personal data without their permission.
- Review every letter before you send it. AI output can contain mistakes or statements that do not match your real experience. You are responsible for the final content of anything you submit to an employer.
- Do not use the service to create misleading, fraudulent, unlawful, harassing or discriminatory content, and do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or overload the service.
6. Ownership of the letter
You keep all rights to the information you supply. Subject to payment, we assign to you whatever rights we may hold in the generated letter — it is yours to use, edit and send freely. Note that AI-generated text may not be protectable by copyright in some jurisdictions, and similar output may be produced for other users.
The website, its design, branding and underlying software remain our property.
7. No guarantee of outcome
We do not guarantee an interview, a job offer, or any other hiring outcome. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost opportunities, lost earnings or reputational harm. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited — and statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
9. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time, and we may update these terms. Changes take effect when posted here, with the "last updated" date revised. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms; changes never apply retroactively to a purchase you already made.
10. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, and our use of cookies and local storage in the Cookie Policy. Both form part of these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, and disputes fall to the competent courts there — without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
